“Thinking that you are not free keeps you from being free. Cease thinking like that and you will be free.” Paramahansa Yogananda
In the book for Proverbs we read, “As one thinks, one is” (23.7). What we believe about ourselves impacts how we view and experience the world. If we feel weak, the world seems frightening. If we feel guilty, the world seems to always be blaming us. If we feel uninspired, the world seems dull or lifeless or overly difficult. If we feel small, the world seems overwhelming. Whatever we think about ourselves shapes how we understand the world, and that understanding then seems to validate our self-perception. The good news is it works in the positive as well as in the negative. When we think of ourselves as worthy, blessings begin flowing into our experience. When we think of ourselves as powerful, we start accomplishing amazing things. When we think of ourselves as free, nothing is able to hold us back. What are we thinking about ourselves today?
