Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Straight, Transgender, celibate, monogamous, non-monogamous, liberal, conservative, moderate, Democrat, Republican, Socialist, Libertarian, urban, suburban, rural, Black, white, Asian, Hispanic, North American, South American, African, European, Caribbean, Australian, Christian, Jew, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, Agnostic, Sikh… we are each part of the whole, expressions of the One.
There are so many “others” that we fear, distrust, dislike, or ignore. Because we doubt our own sacred value, we can’t see the sacred value of others. Because we don’t completely love ourselves, there are many others we can’t love. As we begin to affirm our own dignity and express a willingness to love and nurture ourselves, we will find that there are fewer people who are beyond the reach of our concern. We remember that “God is Love and WHOEVER lives in love lives in God and God lives in them” (1 John 4.16). Love is our Truth. Love is our Reality. Love is calling, our purpose, and our highest aim.
