Criticism, looking for the worst, never being able to celebrate any good fortune or opportunity is really just the result of habitually maintaining a sour attitude. Have you known someone who won $10 on a scratch-off who instead of smiling because they won $10 immediately complained that it wasn’t $20?! Have you been that person? Are you currently that person? That’s just a habit, and habits can be changed. As we approach the final days of Lent, let’s put our self-defeating habits to rest. Let’s break the misery habit and allow ourselves a Resurrection miracle for Easter. Let’s allow the vibrant, optimistic, joyful person we are meant to be to emerge from the dark tomb of negative thinking. Let’s decide to walk into the light of joy and gratitude and to make that way of living our new habit.
