At Sunshine Cathedral, we say our spirituality is Progressive, Positive, and Practical.

Our spirituality is progressive because it challenges old assumptions, values people more than institutions or traditions, finds the living, divine Word to be in the human heart rather than trapped in a book, and believes that all persons have sacred value!

Our spirituality is positive because we take responsibility for our thoughts and actions. We know that we can determine our attitudes and our attitudes can determine how we experience life. By choosing positive thoughts, we have positive feelings, and when our feelings are positive, our life is filled with hope and joy.

Our spirituality is practical because it isn’t dogmatic. It isn’t limited to Sabbaths or holy days. It is a daily practice that can benefit every area of our lives. Our spirituality is practical because it isn’t separate from our sexuality, our physicality, our finances, our relationships, our work or our play.

Learning that progressive, positive, and practical spirituality is life-giving, inclusive, and empowering, we find ourselves waking up to our divine potential and promise, and we find ourselves wanting to share this good news with others. Inclusive, affirming spirituality that recognizes the Good in all people and calls it forth is exactly what the world needs right now. As we embrace it in our own lives, we then have it to share.
